Flames of the Fire is a compelling memoir by seasoned firefighter Mr. Davidson. While the prose can feel uneven at times, this hardly detracts from the book’s impact. What shines through is Davidson’s wealth of knowledge and expertise, earned through years on the front lines. His vivid accounts bring to life the courage of firefighters he has known and the steep price they pay to keep communities safe. Equally evident is his deep admiration for both the legends of the firefighting world and its unsung heroes. Davidson goes beyond recounting his own harrowing experiences, of which there are many.
